If you are going through a traditional publisher, you need to research to find the most appropriate publisher for your work, prepare the manuscript to their specifications, and send it out! Then it is the long waiting game to hear the response. Costs...if you go that route, it should all be covered by your publisher, and hopefully you would then make money. Also, take notice if they require a query letter first, and research how to write that up, and/or the page that introduces your work (the name of that page seems to be escaping me at the moment)....
