Childrens literature best place to get published?
I have been signed up with a literary agent in NY..don't find them good at all..advise on how to best get my manuscripts
in the best hands..had a positive critique all edited and ready to roll any advice please most grateful.

What are the terms of your contract with the agent? When can you begin shopping the manuscript to other agents or a publisher without violating it?
Is your agent reputable? Did you check their business reputation before you signed up? Why do you think they aren't doing a good job?
Where did the shop the manucript? Do you think having an agent is a gaurantee of a sale?
Who gave this positive critique? What are their qualifications to judge what meets the current standards in children's literature publishing?
How much do you know about the publishing industry as a whole, and the children's market in particular?
Why do you think Y!A is the best place to look for advice? Wouldn't doing your own research or at least joining a reputable writing group be far more likely to help with your question? 90% of the answerers on here haven't even graduated school yet.
