What!!

Answer 2

TOR books and FORGE books publish fantasy. If you look at your fantasy books, you will see who the publishers are. One of these book publishers is a subsidiary of HarperCollins. The other one is by some publisher named something 'Doherty Associates' I believe. You can check in on the Tor & Forge websites. Good luck.

Answer 3

also check out bloomsbury as they publish harry potter series. A friendly suggestion would be to keep the original manuscript with u,as u will need it to proove that the work is urs.send them a copy.Go to any good publishing house.they will look at ur manuscript as they have a seperate department for that

Answer 4

First, if you are struggling, I suggest that you re-examine your manuscript, your marketing plan, your proposal and your query letter. Your proposal and query letter should be written with the following things in mind: --who will want to buy your book, --why they will want your book more than the thousands of others out there, --where those people are most easily found, --which members of those groups are most influential, -- what you can contribute to your publisher's effort to publicize your book, etc. You may, in fact, want to revisit your manuscript with those questions in mind. Fiction fills a need in the reader just as much, if less obviously, as non-fiction does. You need to know what chords your work will strike within the reader, and why. Make sure that you deliver as much as possible of the reason why your ideal readers read. Now: how to reach the right publisher? First, start with an agent. If you have all of the above, on top of a solid piece of writing, you will be well ahead of the pack. So, look at the books that will be beside yours on the shelf. Are their any agents discussed in the front matter? Any editors, either? Start with those people. Next, research agents in standard references like the Writer's Market, and the Literary Market Place. Both should be available in your local library system. So will other similar lists. Don't send your proposal or query to companies or people that don't work in your genre. It's a waste of your time and money, as well as theirs. You'll have to go through thousands of listings to find the right ones, but even that is only a few hours of work. You can do this, if you set about it with the same attitude and persistence that let you finish and polish your manuscript.

Answer 5

I think the first step is definitely to find an agent that specializes in fantasy. Having an agent can be really important in getting the publishers to actually read your manuscript-- few publishers take unsolicited or unagented manuscripts anymore. Plus, if you are ever offered a contract, and agent is crucial in negotiating it so that you keep as many rights as possible. Check out the book "Guide to Literary Agents 2007" by the fine people at Writer's Market. Another good place to research is at Preditors and Editors, so you are sure that the agents is legitimate! http://www.anotherealm.com/prededitors/
