Strobel's books are big money makers, in part because churches and Bible studies use them as "textbooks" so as to encourage quantity purchases. Their "logic" and "feigned objective reporting of a professional journalist" embarrasses me as a Bible-believing Christian, especially in light of the fact that I've read a number of books far more obscure (and less lucrative) but doing a much better job with the topics. SO IS THIS SIMPLY ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF CHRISTIAN COMMERCE FOCUSING ON PROFITS OVER QUALITY -- AND HARMING THE KINGDOM IN THE PROCESS?
After all, does anyone know of ANY thinking atheist or agnostic who has EVER come to a belief in Christ through reading a Strobel book?
[I don't know Strobel and I have no doubt that he is probably a very nice guy. But I have winced whenever I come upon reviews of his books -- almost as much as I've winced while reading the books themselves.]

There are far better christian books than those written by Strobel. Answer 3
At least you admit atheists and agnostics think, there may be hope for you yet. Yes, ive noticed a lot of apologetic books going up over recent years, its like theyre trying really hard to convert us non christians, or trying really hard to make us mad.
I think Lee Strobles book prove both things, but if you want an either/or response I guess it would be that christians cant reason. Answer 4
wrong category it should be in the Joke and riddles section. or maybe ranting and raving because he is selling books and you are not is there a hint of jealousy in your post? what book have you tried unsuccessfully to get published?
Isn't this just about your sour grapes? come on be truthful Answer 5
I agree Mr. Strobel makes a pretty unconvincing "case," BUT...
How could one person's writings prove that Christians can't reason? If that's possible, then maybe YOU just proved it! :)
And, what's wrong with Christian publishers making money selling books to Christians? Answer 6
I respectfully disagree. Mr. Strobel chronicled his search as carefully as any lawyer would do. His books are very readable and easy to follow. << GO BACK to questions
