Format for writing a book in word?

I've written a few, but this story I really want to be formatted well. I am using word pad, windows 7 home premium, Microsoft Windows Version 6.1. I know this isn't the best to use, so if you could point me to where I can get a better Word, i'd appreciate it. But anyways, indents, spacing, things of this nature will be very helpful. It's going to be a long book with numbered chapters. Thank you.

Double space, top and bottom margins 1.5 inches, left and right margins .5 inches. Font will be Courier or Times Roman
