Honestly, when writing a childrens book for boys or girls, are women esteemed as highly as men?
I won't get angry at any answer, I just want to know how it works in the world of publishing.

It doesn't make any difference. A good writer is what matters. Answer 2
All I would say is it should. Don't worry about the world of publishing, just write the book you'd like to write. Answer 3
NO,WOMEN ARE CONSIDERED HIGHER AS IN CASE OF J.K.ROWLING. Answer 4
I've observed female characters held in quite high regard in children's literature. Hell, the title character in "Charlotte's Web" is the most intelligent being in the book -- and she would actually have the smallest sized brain.
I'm currently writing a novel aimed at children and teens, and the female lead is turning out to be the one whose smarts are going to save the day -- since I'm using the technique of just writing the thing without pre-plotting it, I don't know how it's going to end, but I'm writing the penultimate conflict at the moment. She's already done a few things earlier that were clever, and she's got a better grasp of proper language than her lower-class suitor, so if the thing ever gets published I think girls will enjoy the character. Ask billionaire J.K. Rowling that question. It certainly has been good for her! << GO BACK to questions
