I have plenty of stories, but German names are so long. So what else could I use for charaters for boy's and girls? Thanks. Characters and children names is actually what I am looking for.

You could use American children names if you like. Regarding to the choice of the children's characters, I think it is good ifthey will pick up a moral lesson. So I suggest picking a character that your readers can sympathize or relate to.
