I see some boring non fiction books such as "Gravity" or "Elephants". Thing is, I want to do the same! I want to write non fiction books as a hobby (I am 16 and I have other big plans...) and books like that seem like a good starting point.
But what I actually want is to write an odd non fiction book, one tat will get attention. I want one that creates controversy! But how do I do that with a non fiction book? DO I have to attack people's beliefs?
My writing skills are obviously not that good, having only high school knowledge. Basically, how do I write a non fiction book?

Non-fiction books go to automatic peer review by University Professors who rate the merits of the book. Publishers then go from that merit review.
When I was working on my book about women filmmakers I travelled to San Francisco to read books at Magazines at Berkley, I hit every library in Los Angeles, read every book and magazine I could get my hands on. Read every history text. Then I went out and contacted a few historial women that still existed and talked with them. I contacted directors about women animators who worked with them and I found that ALL the history text got the same things wrong, thus they were just re-writing what they learned from someone else and they were still getting it wrong!

It is best to write about something you know. Put your beliefs in the book. Draw from life experiences. Being in high school doesn't mean you can't write. But not being educated does mean you can't write. I have added some links to sites that will help you. Good luck!
And if you want to work on the computer then I can give you a site to start writing and it even publishes for you.
