How do you write a text about a book as if you're a book publisher and you're marketing the book?

I've got a homework assignment (we're reading books) it's described like this: "Pretend you work at a book publisher. Market the book. Choose a presentation or a text." And I just don't get it? Do I just write a summary of the book? :S How do book publishers market books??

Look for ads about books. What does the publisher say about the book to get you interested? Does the publisher talk about the author? about past books by the author? price? Do they try to make the book look interesting with pictures and drawings? Do they try to make the book look sexy? How? Do they show a selection of the book? Do they tell you who liked the book?
