I am writing a book and trying to get it published, I need to know how to write a synopsis and How long a children chapter book is
All Answers To QuestionsAnswer 1
The length of a children's chapter book is usually between 32 and 64 pages in length.
Writing a synopsis -
1. Check the agent's or publisher's website to see if they have any specific guidelines for synopses or if they have links to suggestions for writing synopses. This might give you a better idea of what they're looking for.
2. Focus on plot and tension. The main purpose of a synopsis is to give the agent or editor an idea of whether you have enough plot to carry the book. Tension and conflict are important, too. That's what keeps the reader's interest. Your synopsis needs to show how you maintain the tension of the story.
3. Write it in third person, present tense. (Example: Harry finds new friends at Hogwarts and new dangers as well.)
4. Keep it short. Agents and editors are busy, they read a ton, and they appreciate brevity. One page single spaced would make them happy. Double that for the max.
5. Both double-spaced and single-spaced synopses are acceptable. People have mixed opinions on which is best. If the guidelines don't mention it, take your pick. Use Times New Roman font, 12 point, one inch margins. At the top, include the title and word count of your book as well as your name and contact information. Answer 2
books can be as long as they are good. on average, a children's book would be 50 - 100 pages, or 5 -10 chapters. if i were you, i'd just write the book, then go back and edit it down. it doesn't matter if it's long!
How to write a Synopsis?
just summarise every chapter. make sure you have all the important details, but don't include minor detail, like place names, families or descriptions. You should include the plot. Or you could imagine it as an original idea: beginning, middle, end. what happens in each?
