How many times were you rejected by literary agents?
I'm not interested in self-publishing.
i've sent query letters to about 8-10 literary agents, and most haven't responded. the three that did, rejected my query. how many times have you been, before being accepted? do you know any literary agents who accept first-time young adult/ chick lit writers? and some advice for me?
this is a question for published writers out there

Many famous authors were first rejected by as many as thirty agents. If you really want to get published, you may need to send out many more. Answer 2
First, it's harder to get an agent than to get a publisher. Expect to get a lot of rejections. To improve your chances of success you must learn to write a proper query and synopsis, and all this information is available online. Here are a couple of sites to start with.

If you get tired of contacting agents, go to publishers. Most—especially the smaller ones—accept non-agented queries.
