Illustrated Childrens Book Author Seeking Literary Agent?
I have written and illustrated a childrens book that deals with childhood bereavement and the loss of a parent at a young age. Does anyone know of any literary agents who are accepting first-time authors without a national platform?

Be careful looking for "talent scouts" on line. Good luck in your writing career. Answer 3
To begin your quest for an agent, go to the library and use the Literary Market place. It's a reference book that lists all the contact information on agents and publishers. It also details their submissions guidelines.
You said you have a completed manuscript complete with illustrations. That's great, because without a completed manuscript, they won't be interested. Nor will they take the time to review anything you might have.
If the library is not accessible to you, go to Preditors&Editors web site and use the detailed listing of agents and publishers there.
Remember, you should never pay an agent to read, evaluate, or accept your work. She gets paid when you sell your work to a publisher.
I think there is a built in audience already out there in the reading public for the book you propose.
Good luck in your endeavors! << GO BACK to questions
