I'm looking for avenues to publish my novel. It is action/horror/vampire related. I'd like to find a reference guide that could help me locate the best publishers to submit to by genre and what their submission guidelines are, page count for types of novels and other interesting factoids like that.
This can be something online, a book, magazine, whatever.

Also, check out http://www.writersdigest.com
There's a lot of good information there on all aspects of the business. Answer 4
First get a copy of the latest Writer's Market. It will tell you what publishing companies do and do not accept unsolicited manuscripts.
Second get a copy of a book called How to be Your Own Literary Agent. It should tell you everything else you need to know about the publishing industry.
Third, DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE. A lot of scammers will ask for a little bit of money to cover their postage costs. Once you send in a little, they figure they've got you hooked and will ask for more and more. If anyone asks you for money, you don't want to do business with him or her. << GO BACK to questions
