Some Books On Writing Fiction?
I want to be an author. Have always wanted to be one. And I've got a lil' extra cash in my pocket, so I figured I'd buy some books on writing fiction.
I don't want ones that say things such as; "Your grammar must be good. You have to know what you're doing!" I don't need that. I've got great grammar.
What I want, are books that talk about making your writing better. Books that teach you how to make your books not just legible, but fantastically written and interesting enough to have readers tearing through the pages!
=)
So if you know any books like this... Ones that will help me hone my desired craft, please! Give me the title!
Thank you, so much!

I haven't read this book, but because it's by Stephen King, it has to be at least good.
It's called On Writing.
Check it out.

How Not to Write a Novel is an amazing book, it gives you short examples of bad writing and tells you why it's bad. It has tips on plots to avoid, character flaws, and what kind of description to avoid. It's well worth it. It also gives you tips at the end on how to write a good letter to an agent etc. It's great!
