What is a good manuscript format for sending off a fiction novel to a literary agent?

I am attempting to make a manuscript for a fiction novel and I want to know a good and acceptable manuscript format to send off to a literary agent. If anyone could help me that would be nice. I also heard it varies to which agent you send it off to. Please be detailed. The most detailed answer will get five stars!

from what I've read online 12 times new roman font, 1 inch spacing between lines, no bold, underlined, or italic words either.

You do not send your manuscript to a literary agent. First you send a query letter describing your novel; if the agent is interested in representing you, he/she will ask you to submit perhaps a chapter or two or the entire manuscript and will explain to you what format he or she prefers.
