What's the correct format for writing a book?
Im writing a book thats poetic, but then again it gives great advice on the concepts of life....(very dramatic), but i need headers on how to format my book. How to place my acknowledgement, how to set up my chapters, how to set up my title page, i need to know everything i can. PLEASE HELP ME. Im a "first time writer".

Summing it up: Give any potential agent or publisher exactly whta their submission guidelines ask for. If they don't specify, use Courier 12; one-inch margins on all four sides; a header with your last name, a one-word version of your title, and a page number at the top of each page; no bold or italics (underline what would be in italics); double-spaced lines; tabbed paragraphs. Start each chapter about 1/3 of the way down the page. Page one of chapter one is different, including your contact information and the rights you're offering. Don't worry about acknowledgments at this point. << GO BACK to questions
