SE Hinton.

Answer 2

Little Brown Harper Collins Doubleday Random House Scholastic Hyperion Press Simon and Schuster John Wiley and Sons Penguin Thomas Nelson Hachette Tyndale St. Martins Thomas Nelson And you cannot get near a single one of them without an A List Agent. They do not accept submissions from authors. This is the A List of publishers. Pax - C.

Answer 3

I'm with Pax-C they are fantastic but you will need to obtain an appointment with them first, they do not accept solicated manuscripts.

Answer 4

If this is a backward way of asking who to publish with, I would suggest that www.lulu.com is where you want to head. You can publish your own book (for about $5) and sell it right from their site; no need for agents or other such hoops. You can even print out copies and take them to local booksellers (probably not be able to with corporate stores like Borders) to see if they will sell by consignment (they put them on the shelf or counter with a "Local Author" sign) and only pay you if someone buys a copy.

Answer 5

Not knowing what kind of writer you are, we can't answer that question. You see, publishers and agents represent different genres and you need to research the ones that represent your type of writing. You can have an amazing book and a beautiful query letter, but if you write chick lit and send off your letter to an agent who represents fantasy, you are going to get a rejection. And you NEED an agent. Pick up a copy of "Writer's Market" or "Guide to Literary Agents", hunt through Agent Query, and put your Google skills to use to dig up as much information as you can on agents who represent the kinds of things that you write. There is tons of information out there! Read these two sites thoroughly: http://www.agentquery.com/ http://misssnark.blogspot.com/ If you can, get a subscription to Publishers Marketplace (even if it's only for a month). It will really help you find out what is going on in the market right now: http://www.publishersmarketplace.com
