what should i do if i wanted to publish a fantasy book? is there anywhere i could go in the LA area when i've finished typing it on Microsoft Word?

idk BUT if you want to see whether or not the general public likes it first you could go to fictionpress.com and post it on there =].

Buy a copy of Writer's Market 2008. I don't live in L.A., but I'm sure there are at least a few publishers around. And remember: New York has about a million publishers, if you want to just send your manuscript there. One more thing: find an agent or your hard work will end up in the slush pile. maybe you can go to a book store and look through all the publishings', and write down the ones you like; then go on to their websites to get a phone number to call; better yet just go on to random publishing/ publishers' website/web page GOOD LUCK!

Well its really diffcult to publish a book as I am having the same problem. You may also want to try a literary agent they can represent your book to big name publishers. There are many publishers who will not even take a manuscript unless its from a literary agent. If you want to try that way I would suggest getting Writers Guide Literary Agents 2008.
