Literary agentswho to trustI have been in contact...through emial only...with the writers Literacy childrens agency about marketing my book. I have done a lot of research on agents and they seem legit. They have not asked for a penny and said they will not...which was in my research...agents should not receive $ until they sell your book. They have sent me a contract but before I sign I wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of them or have dealt with them before...any opinion?

What would be the best way to get a book on atheism publishedFor starters, I do not have a degree in english, nor in anything yet. I am 30 years old and an atheist. I am writing a book that, if all goes according to plan, will demonstrate what it is like to be an atheist in todays society as well as comparing and contrasting being religious and not religious.
My problem is, I have no idea where or how I can get this published, if at all, once it is completed.
Has anyone here had a book published? How hard is it to find an agent to turn your script in to the publishers for you?
My wife wrote an excellent childrens book and tried for 3 years to get it published, always hearing back that "We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts" from the big publishing houses. No agents were willing to take on her case without charging an insane fee up front.
We have looked in the literary guide for both agents and publishing houses.
I do not want to fall into this same situation, any advice ahead of time would be well taken.
Thank you.
How much chance is their of a teenager getting a Literary agentI'm currently writing a book. It's Fantasy; about a girl who finds out she is a witch, it is set in a universe/world totally made up by me.
The girl starts out as an orphan and servant then finds out she is a witch and goes to a school of sorcery, she then finds out some evil guy killed her parents and she the finds out about her long lost brother who was adopted by someone from the evil-side.
Then as the story goes on she finds out time has been changed so they are living and alternate time-line and she has to try and turn her brother back to the good side and they have to sort out the time-lines etc.
At first the plot outline may sound a bit harry potter-ish in some parts but I assure you it is very different when you acctually read the story.
I am 15 years old and I haven't really done much writing before but I do write and publish fanfiction on fanfiction.net
I have been encouraged by a few friends/family to try and get this published in a few months when I've drafted and edditted it. I think I would like to publish this and I would like to know if anyone has had experience of subbmitting manuscripts and how easy it is to find a literay agent then a publisher.
I know there are quite a few childrens authers but how much chance does anyone think I would have in getting published etc?
My book would be for 8-13 year olds, I think, as the main charachter is 11 at the begining of the story.
I was wondering if their are any places where I can find out how to go about subbmitting to publishers etc.
I dont want anywhere that would cost alot of money because I dont heve that and I want somewhere that wouldnt instantly dissmiss me because I am only 15.
If anyone would like to see any of the story feel free to email rockangel1515@rocketmail.com
Children39s 1st time book author quothopefulquot needs help before even getting startedMy 1st time childrens story book draft is about ready for submission to be printed.
I'm not using the services of a literary agent. I will be making arrangements for an indepedant publisher to print my book.
I will be acting as my own agent and distributor with in my own state.
My book includes additional "tie-ins" in the form of small activity kits. Each kit will have 6-10 seperate items to complete the activites 3 or 4 times over as desired.
My problem is ...I am now ready to contact suppliers who can meet my requirements but I don't know where to start looking.
I need names, addresses and web sites of such manufactures and
suppliers who can do this type work.
My book is about arts and crafts for preschoolers and includes 4-6 small prepackaged kits all contained (including my book) in a clear plastic snap open box for parents to help their child in a fun an enjoyable activity.
While pre-packaging is not new my story book is.
Your help is appreciated.
