“RAINBOW MAN” IN NEW YORK CITY

You might have heard of or viewed in the comic books or animation movies or motion pictures fictional characters like Superman, Batman, Heman and spiderman. But not of a RAINBOW MAN. Since it is no 'fictional' character. He is a real life character walking the streets of New York these days .This is how he is called out or addressed by onlooker Americans "Hey, Rainbow man." He is from the mystical land of India. Usually clad in simple Indian clothes --white kurta (shirt) and dhoti (different from pant) he always wears a turban on his head which is rainbow colored. Unlike other Indians he always keeps on his head the rainbow colored turban which is usual yet an unusual feature of the man since because of his turban he can easily be spotted in a throng of thousands of people. He can even be spotted among hundreds of turban wearing men in India .Usually in India the turban has only one color like white , red , yellow , orange or green etc . But this man has full rainbow on his head. He is a common man from India, but not an ordinary man .His story is as fascinating as the fictions he wrote. Looking like an illiterate villager from India , a farmer sort of man Mr Inder Dan Ratnu is an unusually gifted and talented person --in various fields .He is a highly learned scholar , philosopher , unique writer , excellent orator /talker , cartoonist , good flute player , former banker and an informal scientist . He is the symbol of India’s simplicity, culture, freedom and talents all at the same time currently in New York City.

If you come across in the streets, avenues or in subway trains of Manhatten, Queens, New York these days a fine melodious Indian tune floating through a flute held by man with a rainbow turban on his head be certain he is RAINBOWMAN - Inder Dan Ratnu.

Mr. Inder Dan Ratnu hails from the famous "pinkcity" of India – JAIPUR -the capital city of Rajasthan province .Born and brought up in a peasant family in utter poverty in one of the most economically backward but culturally rich regions of India – the western desert district JAISALMER bordering Pakistan . Mr Ratnu belongs to a bard community called Charan or Gadhvi as is locally known for its intellectual and poetic talents. Fifty eight years old Mr Ratnu, a graduate of Agriculture, which has nothing to do with literature, was never educated in any English medium schools yet he has to his credit being the author of four books in English on quite unusual subjects namely Winston Churchill and the American politics. He got his initial education under the trees of desert, but could successfully learn to speak and write English by listening to BBC and reading newspapers. His books on Churchill have been reviewed by Churchill Center USA in their journal Finest Hour and he received the personal compliments of five American presidents and four British PMs for it. He has been educating, inspiring younger generation about Churchill, freedom and democracy through his lectures at high schools and colleges for the past 34 years or so. Major war speeches of Churchill are at his command which he can recite off hand to any one.

Mr Inder Dan Ratnu the RAINBOW MAN is in USA for the past month and a half in order to promote his latest book on US presidential election entitled First Lady President which he wrote back in 2003 and in which he visualized the rise of a woman and an African American man as the candidates .He sent the copies of this book more than a year ago to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Ratnu claims that Hillary largely ignored this book but Obama appears to have read it and made a very good use of it in the primaries .According to the Rainbow man Obama convincingly used the powerful arguments of "change”,"hope" and "anti-war" stance from the most important speeches given in the book in its chapter nine about convention and nomination of Democratic party. Obama's entire campaign so far including his major foreign policy statements are reflections of the book First Lady President, claims the Rainbow man. He also claims that this is the only book in the whole world which is the nearest thing to the current US presidential election. In the story of the book the woman and the African American man of the Democratic Party join hands to fight the general election as the presidential and vice presidential running mate respectively.
