First Lady President - An American Dream Straight from India

By Inder Dan Ratnu

First Lady President is a novel by Indian author Inder Dan Ratnu, a resident of Jaipur, India, which depicts the rise of a woman to the presidency of the United States.

Written with the aim of promoting FREEDOM as symbolized by the ascent of a woman to the most powerful post in the world, the book represents a new dimension in human freedom, as women constitute half the world's population, yet so few have risen to global leadership positions and none so far has come to occupy the White House.

In fact it is no exaggeration to say that this American dream is a universal dream, as freedom is a universal human need as well as a cause, and democracy is a desirable universal phenomenon. Consequently, the U.S. presidential election is now no longer confined to the interest of the American people alone. It is, in fact, observed with keen interest all over the world, and captures the attention of the people of the whole world. Written in the past tense, First Lady President is a vision into the future by the author reflecting one of his strongest intuitions to date.

A fictional take on a US presidential election campaign (presumably in 2008, although the year is never specified) featuring a female candidate based upon Hillary Clinton, it is a story of how such a figure might emerge as the first ever serious female candidate in a U.S. presidential election, and what opposition -- both culturally and politically -- that she might encounter (as an added twist, her possible political opposition also includes an African American woman).

What would be the reactions of the common people toward their candidacy?

How would her opponents challenge her in their election speeches, media interviews, and TV debates?

What issues would arise with respect to the "war on terror" in Afghanistan and Iraq ?

How could her election possibly affect the political scenario in the Indian subcontinent, and how could Americans of Indian ethnicity get involved in her election process?

All these aspects have been dealt with in detail, as has the ultimate question: is America ready for a female president? To find out, order today www.first-lady-president.com
