For Immediate Release

Upgrade to the ISBN system effective January 1 2007 Proliferation of Electronic Publications

By Mainstreet Publishing

DECEMBER 14, 2006 - When is too much still not enough?

According to the International ISBN Agency, Berlin, as of January 1 2007, it increased the numbering capacity of the ISBN system (from 10 to 13 digits) owing to the “increase of electronic publications and the resulting proliferation of editions and formats”.

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) appears on the cover of most books on the planet and helps librarians and booksellers around the world track down your favorite reads.

So where do people get time to read all those extra books?

Ironically, Joe Jeney, hasn’t time to read any of them because he’s too busy writing novels. Joe is a new generation author who is making the most of online publishing technologies.

Fortuitously, coinciding with the rollout of the new numbering system is the release of Joe’s new book, Equation Point.

The Print-On-Demand publisher Lulu.com has published the U.S. print version of his Sci-fi novel while Mainstreet Publishing has published the Ebook version.

Mainstreet will also be publishing a paperback edition shortly.

Asked when enough is enough, Joe replies never, “Especially where the world of ideas is concerned. You can never have enough.”

He likens the online publishing phenomenon to the first printing press, apparently a good thing, where mass dissemination of ideas changed the world forever – and for the better.

Asked who will have time to read Equation Point, and the plethora of new works available for either download or purchase online, he answers, “The world’s a big marketplace, one of the biggest. Let’s just wait and see.”

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, and read about future gods, dark matter and galactic love, look at Joe’s online home at www.joejeney.com or visit Lulu.com or, from January 2007, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble Online, as well as any of the many other online retailers selling his new work, Equation Point.

Looks like the guys at the ISBN office might have to learn to count even higher in the future.
